Visiting Saloman Farm Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana

There are plenty of reasons why people travel to visit Fort Wayne, considering its place in U.S. history. The town of Fort Wayne gets its name from the military fort that was built there in 1794, where a famous battle took place nearly 100 years later during the Civil War. Today, the town honors its history with museums and historical sites that have been preserved for centuries. Among those historical sites is Saloman Farm Park, a newer addition to the collection of landmarks in the area.

History of the Park

Following the generous donation of land from Chris Saloman in 1996, the Saloman Farm Park began in 2001. Prior to the land donation, Chris Saloman and his family had owned the land for over 20 years. They hoped that one day they would be able to create a historic, working farm that all the people of Indiana could enjoy.

Since the park's opening, people have continuously sold out the camps and productions that the park hosts, allowing it to further expand its facilities.
