1. Detailed Inspection
We begin where you've noticed activity: usually a bedroom or other resting area. Our trained bed bug exterminators inspect:
Mattress seams and box springs
Pillows, bedding, and headboards
Cracks in wood or upholstered furniture
Closets, nightstands, baseboards, drapes, and more
We assess the extent of the active infestation, documenting everything with clear notes and photos to create a custom treatment plan.
Note: Greenix does not provide partial treatments. If the structure shares walls with another unit (e.g., apartment or townhome), all adjoining units must be treated for us to proceed.
2. Pre-Service Preparation
If an active infestation is confirmed, we provide a Pre-Service Checklist to help customers prepare. A technician will review each step with them because we know how overwhelming it can be.
This checklist focuses on:
Heat - Launder all washable items to kill bed bugs
Containment - Seal infested items in plastic bags to prevent spreading
Access - Remove clutter to give technicians full reach to potential hiding spots
We give you around 48-72 hours to complete the checklist before treatment.
3. Initial Treatment
Our expert technicians may use a multi-step approach to treat the entire home and eliminate the active bed bug infestation:
Steam treatment for mattresses, pillows, furniture, and carpets
HEPA vacuuming to remove live bugs and eggs from cracks and fabrics
Residual insecticide applied precisely inside furniture and structural crevices
Dust treatment for wall voids, behind outlets, and inaccessible cracks
We provide or install mattress covers, which must remain on beds for at least one year.
Residents and pets must vacate the home for a minimum of 4 hours after treatment to ensure safety
4. Follow-Up Inspections
- First Follow-Up (48-72 hours later): Inspection, vacuuming, and spot treatment for any remaining signs of an active infestation.
- Final Inspection (7 days later): A full recheck. If activity is still present, additional treatment will be applied, and follow-ups scheduled as needed.
